One of Sidney Sheldon’s most popular and bestselling titles, repackaged and reissued for a new generation of fans. Kate Blackwell is one of the richest and most powerful women in the world. She is an enigma, a woman surrounded by a thousand unanswered questions. Her father was a diamond prospector who struck it rich beyond his wildest dreams. Her mother was the daughter of a crooked Afrikaaner merchant. Her conception was itself an act of hate-filled vengeance. At the extravagent celebrations of her ninetieth birthday, there are toasts from a Supreme Court Judge and a telegram from the White House. And for Kate there are ghosts, ghosts of absent friends and of enemies. Ghosts from a life of blackmail and murder. Ghosts from an empire spawned by naked ambition! Sidney Sheldon is one of the most popular storytellers in the world. This is one of his best-loved novels, a compulsively readable thriller, packed with suspense, intrigue and passion. It will recruit a new generation of fans to his writing.

My Thoughts: Another job well done by Sidney.. When does he ever not deliver. I could see why this one is one of the best of all times. If you have never read Sidney before, this should be the first one that you pick up

Every character (not all but most) in here had their devious ways of making things happen. This just shows how with one bad seed could spawn more bad seeds.

Kate is by far the most powerful women in the century. What she wants she gets. Some of the things she has done were uncalled for and beyond me. How could someone do that to their own flesh and blood. She cared for no one but herself, but I adore her attitude towards making sure she has the money and her company staying on top. What better way to live, but it destroyed her as a person.
This story was action packed from beginning to the end and there was no way I could put it down. The biggest factor is money. Money is makes the world go round and without it where would we be? Sidney showed you exactly what a world full of riches could do to you. I loved it!

Every single character in this story I enjoyed. No one or nothing was out of place and Sidney left nothing to your imagination, no rock un-turned. He told you straight up how it was going down. There were so many twists and turns and you just didn’t know whose life was next to be destroyed. It kept you on your toes. The characters came to life on these pages and the plot thickened with each one. The situations were so real, so touching.. There was nothing lame about this one.

I loved how it started from the beginning with everyone’s life and took you through to the end. I can’t wait to read the sequel to see what happened to the twins.. especially Eve, gosh I know she is mad! but it seems.. everyone in here got what they deserved, and not at all predictable.

Awesome story 5 Chocolate Strawberries, Sidney delivers yet again and again.
