For the fans of Stephen King and Dean Koontz…
How do you force a confession out of a coworker trying to poison you? Do you kill those who dismiss your fears and believe you are paranoid? What do you do if you start questioning your own suspicions–and sanity–as you take the law into your hands?
In this disturbing tale of derangement, a young psychopathic woman is slipping into madness as she fights an enemy that may exist only in her imagination. She has to resort to desperate measures when she realizes that a gun, security cameras in her apartment, and constant vigilance will not be enough to survive.
Bonus: “Hitchhiker” by Tim Kizer, the first entry in the As the Darkness Falls series.
From description:
When a serial killer hitches a ride one sunny day in a beautiful California valley, he does not suspect that he may have met his match, who is dead set to take another life. The battle of wits begins and only the most devious mind will survive.

My Thoughts: Intoxication is a neat thriller. I absolutely liked it. Tim sent me on a whirlwind chase to find out who spiked the coffee and why? At first I did think that she was crazy!! But as the story pushes on you find out way more then you bargained for. There were many twists and turns that left me scrolling fast to finish this story.
I liked Leslie. She is very kick ass hard core. She played no games when she thought that someone spiked her coffee. She hurriedly devised a plan to get them.. Something I would do. No softy in her, sitting around crying and waiting for the next strike! Leslie took charge. and FAST!
But then ending did shock me. I was not prepared for what happen. It left me raging mad and very excited at the same time. Why on earth did that have to happen? But yet, I’m glad that it did so it wasn’t to be so cliche.
Tim did a superb job with this story from beginning to end.
4 Chocolate Strawberries for Intoxication. I Really Liked It.
Hitch-Hiker was a little different. I was not to fond of this storyline. Well let me say I did like the element of surprise with this one but then the end went maybe a bit to far for me. It just seemed so unreal.
What are they chances for that? Was that the point of the story? I mean we are all working off chance right? The chance is the reason I continued to read. More towards the end right when you start to get a feel of the characters I was thrown aside by another part in the story.
Where did that come from? Was my next question, and Why? I had a confused look on my face for a second.
I just felt like this one was missing something. It went from confusing to wild. ( I do not like to give up the story so I cant tell you the parts)
I loved the serial killing aspect of the story. I enjoy serial killers, but this one was missing the thrill of the killers.
This one gets 2 chocolate strawberries. I didn’t like it.
